Kok Chian Leong

Biography

Kok Chian is an Industrial Designer with a forte in Front-end Innovation, Technology Design, Consumer Electronics, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Transportation Design & Visualisations. He was the Design Lead at Seymourpowell for a decade and has also led a design team at the General Electric/Fitch Asia Design Studios (Singapore, Shanghai & Taipei) as a Senior Industrial Design Consultant for almost nine years.

He gained his MA from the Royal College of Art in London in 2006 & also received a Diploma with Merit from the Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore in 1993. His design work has been published by Thames & Hudson, Fast Company, DA&D & also his research projects has been exhibited at the Voegele Kultur Zentrum in Switzerland & Science Museum in London. He has spoken around the world at conferences including Nvidia's GPU Technology Conference in San Jose & UCLA Digital Media in Los Angeles.

The products that he designed has won D&AD, Fast Company Innovation By Design & iF Design Awards. He also holds six active product design patents in the areas of transport technology systems, mass produced structural packaging products, fashion inspired digital displays, reduced-risk & behavioural science-led products.
