Dr Kayalvizhi Jayavel

Biography

Dr Kayalvizhi Jayavel is a researcher, academic leader, and educator with over two decades of experience in data science, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things (IoT). She is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for BSc (Hons) Data Science and AI at the Creative Computing Institute, University of the Arts London, where she leads curriculum innovation, mentors students, and builds strong industry and academic partnerships.
Her work reflects a blend of academic leadership, applied research, and international collaboration. Previously, she served as Associate Professor and Assistant Director for International Relations at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, India, establishing global partnerships and advancing multidisciplinary research. She is also an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Rwanda and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK).
Dr Jayavel’s research focuses on applied AI and IoT, particularly in healthcare, precision agriculture, education, and smart mobility. She has led and contributed to several nationally and internationally funded projects, published widely, served as an Associate Editor and reviewer for leading journals, and received multiple recognitions for teaching, research, and community engagement.
