Kasia Hamilton

Biography

I am a creative practitioner and educator working across experiential spatial design, graphic media, textiles, drawing and food. My interdisciplinary practice examines how design and creative practice can shape meaningful experiences through material exploration, making and participation.
Drawing has been a longstanding and important part of my creative practice. I am particularly interested in drawing as a direct, accessible and intuitive form of thinking, observation and expression, and in its potential to support reflection, connection and wellbeing.

My current research explores the healing potential of art and creative practice, with a particular focus on how drawing, making, material engagement and other creative processes can influence wellbeing. I am interested in the relationship between creative activity, sensory experience, reflection and emotional wellbeing, and in developing accessible creative approaches that can be used beyond conventional art and design contexts.

I have taught at the University of the Arts London since 2013 across spatial design, graphic media and pre-degree programmes. I also led the HND Interior Design and Architecture programme in Vietnam and continue to contribute to teaching on international programmes in China. My teaching encourages experimentation, critical enquiry and collaborative approaches to design practice.

Alongside my academic practice, I work as an independent designer, artist and creative facilitator, collaborating with cultural organisations, commercial clients and private commissions. I worked across hospitality, residential and experiential design for clients including Amazon, ITV, Hulu, Nando’s and Las Iguanas.
