Biography
Hester Mauduit is a writer, curator and doctoral researcher at London College Fashion, University of the Arts London. Her pratice-led PhD interrogates sustainable curatorial practices in fashion exhibitions, focussing particularly on care practices and the emotional impact of exhibitions with an environmental focus.Between 2022 and 2024 she worked at the Fashion for Good museum, a unique museum formerly located in Amsterdam, dedicated to sustainable fashion and fashion innovation. She produced the travelling exhibition GROW: The World of Biomaterials (multiple locations, Februay - July 2023) and co-curated the exhibition What Goes Around Comes Around (Fashion for Good, January - June 2024). At the Barbican Art Gallery, she developed exhibitions including Dirty Looks: Desire and Decay in Fashion (October 2025 - January 2026). For the British Textile Biennial 2025, she co-curated the exhibition Future Fashion Landscapes with Dr Mila Burcikova, showcasing the Centre for Sustainable Fashion's project of the same name.
