Biography

Dr. Gavin Edmonds s an Associate Lecturer at the University of the Arts London (UAL) and an artist/researcher with Traumascapes.org.

He holds a practice-based PhD from UAL, which explored the concept of psychic causality in artistic practice. He lectures, publishes, and exhibits in the fields of artistic practice, cultural theory, and trauma studies.

He is the author of "Listening for Echoes, Afterwardsness as a Model for Artistic Practice" and "The Dream, Artistic Practice, and Shattered Time." His work has been featured in outputs by UAL Postgraduate groups (B.L.&.M.E; E.P.R.G) and in solo and group shows at institutions, including The National Gallery and The National Portrait Gallery.

Most recently, Gavin contributed to the Living Archive of Survivorhood of Trauma project and the accompanying article in The Lancet Psychiatry. Upcoming work includes an exposition as part of the Traumascapes Population Mental Health Consortium team for Population Health Improvement UK.
