Biography
Frederico Matos is a senior lecturer at UAL's Teaching and Learning Exchange. He teaches on the PGCert and MA in Academic Practice programmes. He is also a Teaching Fellow at the Surrey Institute of Education. Previously, he was the Director of the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice in Higher Education at King's College London where he was a lecturer in Higher Education. As part of his work at the King's Learning Institute he also taught on the Masters in Clinical Education.He holds a PhD in Sociology of Higher Education (UCL). His research focuses on student experience and engagement, with a particular focus on the doctoral experience, and more broadly on the various academic cohorts' experiences and perceptions of Higher Education. He has contributed to various national surveys including the Careers in Research Online Survey (CROS) while a researcher at the London School of Economics, and as a consultant for Universities UK he contributed to the development of the Principal Investigator and Research Leader Survey (PIRLS).
Frederico is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has previously worked at King's College London, University College London (UCL), University of Cambridge, and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
