Fiona Uwamahoro

Biography

Fiona Uwamahoro is a PhD Candidate at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London (UAL). Her doctoral thesis explores the emergence of the field of fashion in Rwanda. In addition, the experiences of fashion designers and intermediaries working in the African field of fashion, with a particular emphasis on power relationships shaping the transnational field of fashion.

Fiona's academic background is diverse, spanning multiple disciplines and areas of study. She holds an MSc in Innovation, Creativity & Entrepreneurship from Newcastle University and a BA in Sociology from Durham University.
