Biography

I'm an experienced, versatile filmmaker and academic. Together with a track record of international programme making in factual and critically acclaimed television drama series, I’ve twenty years’ experience of teaching factual film and drama in Universities and film schools, I’ve had an eclectic and diverse career in TV, working across a range of genres and content, from challenging factual productions in high-risk areas, to arts and science documentaries for UK channels. My recent film, 'Parkinson Dances', was made in collaboration with medical researchers at the University of Southampton, charities and people living with Parkinsons. The project examined new methodologies for research into the impact and efficacy of dance on people with Parkinson’s. In Mexico, I managed long running telenovelas, such as 'El vuelo del águila' and 'La antorcha encendida', for Televisa SA de CV. As well as having a reputation for maintaining calm under pressure and an ability to bring out the best in the creative potential of individuals, teams and departments, I’m energetic, focused and able to work to fast turnarounds, whilst keeping a keen eye on detail and veracity of content, in both my programme making and writing.
