Biography
Alexandra Foxwell is a curator and design researcher. With over twelve years’ industry experience, she began her career as a womenswear designer working for global fashion brands, and now focuses on the histories, processes and interpretation of fashion and design, particularly within museum and archival contexts. Her professional experience includes work with Calvin Klein, Gucci, Anderson & Sheppard, the LCF Archives, the Fashion and Textile Museum and the Society of Antiquaries of London.She holds an MA in Fashion Curation and Cultural Programming from London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, and a First-Class Honours BA in Fashion Design from Kingston University. Her research on fashion, design and material culture has been presented at institutions including Parsons School of Design in New York, the Royal College of Art and London Museum. Her design work has also been published in Designing a Fashion Collection (Bloomsbury) and Europe: Rising Fashion Designers (Schiffer Publishing Ltd.).
