Dee Poon Chu Ying founded the Tessellation Group, a pioneer in innovative and sustainable fashion. As President of Brands and Retailing, she launched a waterless dye collection recognised by the UN Retail4Impact initiative.
A globally recognised entrepreneur, she serves on the Hong Kong Trade Development Council's Hong Kong–Europe Business Council, the Hong Kong–ASEAN Foundation Advisory Council, and as a Governor of the China–United States Exchange Foundation, fostering cross-regional collaboration.
Deeply committed to social advocacy, Dee is a trustee of the Y.L. Yang Foundation and Asia House, an Advisor to Our Hong Kong Foundation and Bloom KKCA Academy, and a board member of Mind HK. She is also a member of The Conference Board's Asia Corporate Leadership Council, the Harvard University Asia Center's International Advisory Committee, Oxford Saïd's Ownership Project Family Advisory Council, MIT Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship Business Circle at MIT Sloan School of Management, and the Global Steering Committee of Social Entrepreneurship to Spur Health. In 2014, she was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and a Fellow of the Aspen Institute's China Fellowship Program.
Passionate about art and culture, Dee serves as an International Council member of Tate and the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and sits on the board of Asia Art Archive and the council of the China Arts Foundation. Her short film, An Exercise in Futility (2009), was screened at the Cannes and Beijing International Film Festivals.
A former Editor-at-Large of iLook Magazine and columnist for Modern Weekly, Dee focused her editorial work on sustainability. In 2008, her pop-up retail venture, DYSEMEVAS, was among the first to showcase emerging Chinese designers internationally.
