Over 150 guests attended our Pre 1990s Alumni Gathering at Central Saint Martins on Wednesday 22 June 2016. Due to unprecedented demand, the venue had to be changed at the last minute to accommodate all the alumni who wanted to attend.
Guests arrived to welcome drinks, followed by a speech from Jeremy Till, Head of Central Saint Martins. Jeremy spoke about CSM in its current location and the student experience in 2016. He also encouraged guests to donate any documents or images they have from their time at the College to the CSM Collections & Archives.
The guests were then taken on a guided tour of the CSM Degree Show 2 by Jeremy and the three Deans of the College – Anne Smith and Mark Dunhill, Deans of Academic Programmes and Jonathan Barratt, Dean for Development and Quality.
We want to thank all the guests who came along and made the event such a special evening. Because of the great response we have received, and the feedback on the night, we are hoping to make the event an annual occurrence!
One of the reasons we held the event was to re-connect with alumni we no longer have contact details for. We asked our guests to put us in touch with classmates they were still in touch with, and as a result, we have welcomed almost a hundred alumni back to the UAL alumni community. This is part of an ongoing project at UAL, to strengthen our historical records. If you are still in touch with your old classmates, please do send their details on to us, or encourage them to get in touch with us directly at alumni@arts.ac.uk, so we can let them know about news and events from the Alumni Association.
