Screenwriter James Dormer, who graduated from London College of Communication‘s MA Screenwriting course in 2008 is currently shooting his new film in China. Production is well under way for ‘Outcast’ which will star Hayden Christensen and Nicolas Cage.

New release ‘Outcast’, directed by Nick Powell, who has won five Taurus awards for his stunt escapades and was action choreographer on “The Bourne Identity” is due to be released in 2014.

The film revolves around two worn-out Crusaders who have wandered off toward the East, eventually arriving in western China – where they become entangled in romance and antagonism with local royalty.

The plot:
A mysterious warrior teams up with the daughter and son of a deposed Chinese Emperor to defeat their cruel Uncle, who seeks their deaths.

“Nick Powell’s expertise in the world of stunts and martial arts along with his discerning eye are all huge assets to ensuring an authentic and thrilling action film that will resonate with audiences all over the world,” said Ying Ye, managing director of Easternlight.

James’s talents extend to television where he has written for ITV’s The Fixer, BBC’s Spooks, The Musketeers, Sky’s Sinbad and Sky & Cinemax/HBO’s Strike Back. He has written films such as The Holding and The Killing Circle.
