UAL’s Korean Alumni Association has established a creative partnership with British Airways Korea to produce an exclusive, limited edition 2016 calendar.
All Korean based alumni were welcome to submit work to feature in the calendar, with the design brief asking artists to work across three themes; stories, culture and memories. All the pieces of artwork reflect the artists’ personal experiences of studying and living in Britain.
The final 12 designs where selected by a panel of judges from British Airways and features many British icons such as the London skyline, St Patrick’s Day, London Fashion Week, afternoon tea, Brit Pop and Shakespeare.
Manual Alavarez, British Airways Commercial Manager for Korea said “We are very excited about this collaboration between British Airways and the UAL Korean Alumni. As we celebrate our third anniversary of flights from Seoul, we wanted to do something special to demonstrate creative Britain and how inspiring travel can be. I hope this calendar will encourage many more Koreans to visit Britain for themselves in 2016.”
The calendar is to be given to passengers flying with British Airways, key clients, business contacts, as well as winners of British Airways Korea social media competitions.
The UAL Korean Alumni Association was founded to help UAL graduates in Korea develop a creative network. The Association is a platform to promote business ideas, showcase job opportunities and help with career development. It’s also a network that hosts social gatherings and innovative events to provide regular updates on the latest London news from UAL and the colleges. In Korea we have over 2,500 graduates working in the fashion, graphic, jewellery, craft and design business sectors.
