In April, the Alumni of Colour Association (AoCA) organised an evening of surrealist sound as part of the Climate Emergency Network’s week-long Earth Day 2025 celebrations.
AoCA x LIN KAM ART presents BASS TONE REGNERATION: Earth Night 2025 was curated by Linett Kamala, President of the AoCA and founder of LIN KAM ART.
The evening included immersive DJ sets in the Platform Bar at Central Saint Martins (CSM), by Linett and current CSM student Omi. At the centre of the event was BASS TONE REGENERATION, Linett’s sound system and light installation which amplifies the relationship between people and the environment.
Guests were also treated to a performance by MA Art and Science graduate, Becky Lyon. Becky performed ‘Coming into contact with a river you cannot touch’, an experimental and sensory performance-ritual where she reaches out to contact the polluted and enclosed waters of England that can’t be touched.
The event was a partnership between the AoCA, a collaborative community supporting people of colour in the creative industries; and the Climate Emergency Network a University of the Arts London community of changemakers connected through creative climate action.
The evening was also part of DJs 4 Climate Action Earth Night; a global event series during Earth Week which see DJs, venues and promoters unite for the planet.
