We are delighted to announce that we have been accredited as a Bronze Carbon Literate Educator by the UN-recognised Carbon Literacy Project.
This prestigious accreditation recognises our commitment to embed climate education and action, through Carbon Literacy, into our institution and ethos. The award demonstrates UAL’s contribution to facilitate a cultural shift towards a zero-carbon society.
To become achieve accreditation accredited as a Bronze Carbon Literate Educator, we have trained over 500 staff from across all our six 6 Ccolleges. Following the Carbon Literacy course, each participant is invited to make a pledge to reduce their emissions in the context of their work at UAL. This work is a key objective of UAL’s Climate Action Plan, supporting UAL’s objective to become a Social Purpose University and to embed Climate, Social and Racial Justice in its curriculum.
There are regular Carbon Literacy training dates that are open for all UAL staff to book on to. Upcoming dates are bookable here. Bespoke sessions can also be organised for staff groups (minimum of 12) and for student cohorts. To arrange a session, please get in touch at carbonliteracy@arts.ac.uk
