Anna Wood has been appointed to the role of Pro Vice-Chancellor UAL Online.

Our 10-year strategy set out our ambition to offer creative education to anyone who can benefit from it. UAL Online, led by Anna, will be a key element of this commitment, enabling the University to reach new audiences to bring a high-quality creative education to more students than ever before.

Anna joins UAL from Cambridge University Press & Assessment (CUP&A), where she has spent the past 2.5 years as founding Managing Director of a new online education business unit comprising digital marketing and sales, design and development, tutor recruitment and student success functions. The department launched Cambridge Advance Online in 2020 - a joint venture between the University and CUP&A delivering fully online short courses aimed at graduate professionals in a global market.

Previously, Anna spent 5 years as Executive Director of Online and Professional Education at King’s College London where she held responsibility for the design and production of fully online Masters programmes, and for business development of professional education. Anna has also held a number of different university leadership positions including faculty director, head of diversity and inclusion, and policy manager for a health professional body.

“We are delighted to bring you news that after a highly competitive process, UAL has appointed Anna Wood to the role of PVC Online. Anna's appointment is a key milestone in implementing our 10-year strategy ‘the world needs creativity', bringing creative education to more people than ever before.
