Max Houghton

Max Houghton is a Senior Lecturer in photography at London College of Communication, where she is Co-Course Leader for MA Photojournalism and Documentary Photography.

Max edited eight magazines for six years, and now regularly contributes to the international arts press. She has curated photographic exhibitions in London, Brighton and New York and speaks regularly at talks and symposia about the documentary image.

Her first book, Firecrackers - Female Photographers Now, co-authored with Fiona Rogers, was published by Thames & Hudson in 2017. Max is also a scholarship doctoral candidate in the Faculty of Laws at University College London (UCL).
