    New Design Value Framework measures the environmental, social and economic impact of design

    Design Council has launched The Design Value Framework: a tool that designers and commissioners of design can use to measure and evaluate their work. Developed with UAL Social Design Institute and BOP Consulting, it’s the first time a single framework covers all design sectors, and goes beyond economics to include the social, environmental and democratic impact of design.

    20/20: Open call for artists’ expressions of interest

    The Decolonising Arts Institute has launched the first of 2 open calls for artists across the UK to take part in the 20/20 project. The programme will bring together 20 emerging or mid-career ethnically diverse artists who may identify as black, brown, or as people of colour, with 20 public art collections – leading to 20 new permanent acquisitions in museums and galleries across the UK.

    Sonia Boyce OBE RA wins Golden Lion Award

    Sonia Boyce OBE RA, Professor at UAL and inaugural Chair in Black Art and Design, has won the prestigious Golden Lion award for Best National Participation at La Biennale di Venezia 2022 for her exhibition ‘Feeling Her Way’ at the British Pavilion.

    Joy Gregory's first textile work The Sweetest Thing is a defining work in Exeter's Royal Albert Memorial Museum's major 2022 exhibition In Plain Sight. The work and exhibition explore Devon’s links to the transatlantic slave trade.
