Visiting the Centre

Searchroom, University Archives and Special Collections Centre, photograph by Luke Potter, University of the Arts London

The University Archives and Special Collections Centre is based at London College of Communication in Elephant and Castle.

It is open to University of the Arts London staff, students and academics of all Higher Education Institutions, as well as the public.

The Centre's opening hours are Monday - Friday 13:00 - 17:00

Booking an appointment is advisable, as the collections can become fully booked around two weeks in advance. At this point, we ask visitors to provide details on the purpose of their visit, the collection they wish to look at and area of interest, so we can prepare for the visit.

Our catalogue is available to browse online before visiting, so visitors can decide in advance what material they are interested in looking at.

Group tours of the archive for students and their tutors in support of teaching and learning can be arranged. If you are interested in booking a tour for a student group please contact us using the details below.

There is disabled access to the Centre and parking.

In the search room, pencils and laptops can be used for note taking. Please note there are charges for copying (restrictions apply). For more information about copying see our Copying Archive Materials page

Please bring a form of photographic ID with you on the day of your visit.

On arrival at London College of Communication please report to reception.

Information on getting to London College of Communication is available on the College website.

We offer an enquiry service for those unable to visit or who have questions about the archive materials before visiting. We are able to carry out thirty minutes of research free of charge. If we feel that an enquiry requires further research time we will advise on this and discuss options.
