Copying Archive Materials
The University Archives and Special Collections Centre can offer a limited copying service, although specific rules apply to different archives and collections. Please speak to a member of archive staff if you wish to have copies made.
Archive staff can provide a limited number of copies of archive material for non-commercial research and private study. All copying requests must be referred to a member of staff who will advise as to whether this is possible, considering the condition and preservation needs of the items, Data Protection and legal issues. There are charges for copying in line with print charges levied by Library Services.
Please note, copying items from the Stanley Kubrick Archive is restricted to academic researchers, only due to the donation agreement.
Non-flash photographs of materials from our archives and collections are usually permitted for non-commercial research and private study. Please ask a member of staff before photographing archive materials. A copyright declaration form must be completed giving details of all items photographed.
Please note, photography of items from the Stanley Kubrick Archive is not permitted due to the donation agreement.
The Centre can provide copies of archive materials for commercial reproduction such as in books, magazines etc. Those requesting must clear copyright on any items before the archive can release images to them. A fee is charged to cover the administration of the copying and provide a contribution to collection care. Archive staff can advise on the charge when selection is made.
Copying of archive material from the Stanley Kubrick Archive for commercial purposes requires prior approval by the donors of the Archive before any imagery can be released to the requester. This process can take some time.
