Awards Ceremonies

We look forward to welcoming successful graduates and their families to the ceremonies held between Monday 18 and Thursday 21 July at the Royal Festival Hall. You can only attend if you have previously registered for your ceremony. It is not be possible to register to attend this week.

Instructions and timings

Your instructions have been sent to your external email address over the last week. We recommend you read the instructions carefully as they should answer most of your questions.

We recommend you arrive no earlier than 90 minutes before your ceremony commences to give you time to confirm your attendance, collect your tickets where appropriate and your gown. If you have ordered your gown please bring your gown reference – you should have this on your mobile.

Extra tickets

If you have been granted extra tickets, you can pay for these on the day (in cash please). If you no longer need the extras please just let us know at the ticket collection desk on the day so we can reallocate them where necessary. You will not be obliged to pay for extra tickets you don’t want.


If you haven’t already ordered your gown, there will be some spare gowns available for your ceremony. If you need a gown let the robing marshal know so they can allocate you to the correct queue.


In August, the Graduation team will start to process refunds for those students who did not achieve their award in time for this summer’s ceremonies. Refunds for students who booked to register and achieved their award will only be issued in exceptional circumstances as ticketing closed more than a month ago.
