Inclusive Arts Education Forum (IAEF)

The Inclusive Arts Education Forum (IAEF) meets regularly at UAL to discuss issues around inclusion research in art, design and communication education.

IAEF evolved out of the RAS conference: Towards a Progressive Arts Education (2013) and brings together art educators, theorists, pedagogic researchers, curators, artists and designers who are interested in inclusion, change and intervention. All are motivated by a desire to extend and share their knowledge around the key areas of inclusion and diversity in HE arts sector.

IAEF has developed an intersectional framework for debate and discourse thereby supporting cross-disciplinary work into inclusion issues in relation to 'race' and ethnicity, gender, disability, social class and sexuality. Invited speakers facilitate boundary crossing debates and the forum works as a supportive framework for new researchers in the field.

You are particularly encouraged to join if you have a research interest in the field. You may be a tutor in art and design, a research student, a post-doctoral researcher, writer, artist, curator, theorist or in some way have a clear and ongoing interest in some form of research around inclusion and diversity issues within arts education.
