What is a Social Enterprise and how can I start one?

What is a social enterprise? This interactive session will introduce you to the world of social enterprise. The workshop will focus on both theory and practice; exploring how now, more than ever, social enterprises can thrive both in the UK and internationally. Using case studies to explore what it means to be a social enterprise and how and why you should consider it, we will equip you with the knowledge you need to turn your concept into a reality. Please bring an idea if you have one, or just a passion to create one.

The session will be Led by Peter Ptashko
Peter Ptashko FRSA is the Director of the Global Social Entrepreneurship Network (GSEN). He coordinates a network of 60 ‘supporter organisations’ of Social Entrepreneurs in 70 countries around the world. He has led projects supporting social entrepreneurs all over the world - most recently in Canada, Mexico, South Africa, Mongolia and Eastern Europe. Peter has 10 years of experience working in both the Education and Social Enterprise sectors, in the UK and abroad. He remains also a freelance consultant and is passionate about supporting the development of social entrepreneurs anywhere in the world.
