Strategies for Job Hunting - LCC

Overview

Looking for part time work while you study? Or full time work as a graduate?

This workshop will help you develop the skills needed to make your job search more effective. We will cover the basics such as using jobs boards and social media. We'll also cover more advanced perspectives, including making speculative connections to employers and managing information related to your search.

What will you learn?

Through a series of practical exercises and short presentations you will:

  • Develop an understanding of different approaches to job hunting.
  • Learn how to connect with and create opportunities.
  • How to implement a range of job hunting strategies.
  • Tools to identify jobs and opportunities in your subject area and beyond.

Exercises will include a combination of individual and group work. We recommend bringing along a laptop or tablet to work from. There will be time for discussion during the workshop and we will signpost further resources.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is open to all UAL students and graduates from all UAL colleges. Whether you’re just starting out with your job search or developing your skills from an experienced perspective, this workshop will be beneficial to attend.

The session will be led and facilitated by: Zoë Tynan-Campbell, Enterprise & Employability Practitioner and is organised by the Careers and Employability team.

If you believe there are any barriers to your participation in this event or you have any access requirements you wish to discuss, we would be happy to talk to you. Please contact z.tynancampbell@arts.ac.uk in advance.
