Overview
This workshop will share best practice and industry perspectives on creative portfolios. It will cover a number of ways to present your work both online / offline and consider what modes or platforms might work best for you and your practice. We will cover frequent oversights and common questions including content, visual identity and how to protect and respect your intellectual property.
We recommend you attend this workshop when starting out or refining your professional portfolio for a wide range of creative opportunities internationally.
There will be plenty of time for questions - further support and resources will be signposted throughout.
 
What will you learn?
Through a series of reflective exercises and short presentations you will:
  • Explore and identify appropriate formats to network and present work
  • Learn best practice around editing and sharing your practice
  • Develop an understanding of your different audiences and how to tailor your portfolio for different opportunities
  • Improve your visibility as a creative practitioner
 
Who is this workshop for?
In the past this workshop has assisted those who are planning or drafting their first portfolio as well as those who would like to revisit or refine what they already have. The workshop is designed to offer insight to a number of practices / disciplines and will touch on your options for presenting work online as well as physical, print formats.
 
This session is one of a number of workshops facilitated by Careers and Employability. Keep a look out for others such as Skills for Interviews, Strategies for Job Hunting, Crafting Effective CVs and Cover Letters and Exploring your Career Ambitions.
 
The session will be led and facilitated by: Hannah Breslin, Employability Practitioner (Camberwell and Chelsea) and is open to all students and graduates from all UAL colleges.
