This year’s ‘Co Create’ project by Foundation Plus and CSM Museum & Study Collection focuses on sustainability.
For the project, students from our Foundation Plus course were put into multi-disciplinary pairs for 10 days. Each pair was given an artefact from the Museum to respond to, an object that already had some link to the theme of sustainability to inspire them. They then visited the CSM Library & Materials Collection to view relevant texts and to select visual references to inform their concepts.
The display features photos of the students’ work and the museum works they originally responded too. The sustainable credentials of each piece of work are listed on the poster in the form of an information tag. All work in the exhibition can be detached from the posters and reused, and the text has been printed on 100% recycled paper and FSC certified paper. By using Typeset in Eco Font 20% less ink has been used and the boxes are made from 70% recycled material.
CSM Museum would like to give a very big thank you to Mark Thomson, Jo Simpson, Georgia Steele, Roger Dean, Ian Barratt, and all of the staff and students involved in the project.
