This briefing will tell you all about the Mead Final Project Award (formerly called Mead Scholarships), and how to complete your application.
The briefing will cover:
- How to submit your art project idea as a proposal
- Overview of the application process
- What to include in your submission
- How to present your proposal for maximum impact
The Mead Awards were introduced in 2013 (with a major donation by Scott Mead) to fund arts projects which help UAL students and alumni develop their creative practice.
If you are a Final Year undergraduate student (working in any discipline), you may apply for a Mead Final Project Award of up to £2,500.
This award aims to support students who need extra finance to achieve their final major project to their aspirations.
To apply for a Mead Final project Award, you must be:
- A current UAL undergraduate student, in your final year
We welcome applications by those in receipt of a UAL Bursary or Access to Learning grant, in recognition that finances are often a barrier for these students.
Applications must be to request financial support for your final (degree) project during 2019.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
You must be a Final Year student on an undergraduate (degree level) course at UAL.
Can I apply for the award even if i can't attend this event?
Yes. The slide presentation from this event, plus details of how you can apply for an award will be on the Mead Awards webpage shortly after the event.
