Develop your location photography skills with a combination of practical group assignments and classroom presentations and critiques.
Whether photographing the hustle and bustle of Camden Market, the tranquillity of London's Parks or the excitement of Soho and The West End, this course will improve your skills and teach you how to apply appropriate and creative camera controls, functions and filters to add mood and atmosphere when taking photographs in diverse locations in London.
London's streets hold countless photographic opportunities whether that is street photography, exteriors, interiors food and drink or the multi cultural characters that frequent the streets pubs and markets of London. This course will equip you with the knowledge to get the very best out of your subjects and resulting photographs. The strong practical basis of utilising camera controls will be complemented by a group internet photo sharing forum where your tutor and peers can comment on the style of the work you produce, Class critiques will have a strong emphasis on composition and visual narrative. You will develop critical awareness as well as an understanding of photography as a means of visual communication.
Traditional and contemporary approaches to photography, and presentations on the work of influential contemporary practitioners. Practical, ethical and legal considerations. Narrative and composition, telling a story through photographs will also be covered.
