Set Design and Prop Making for Fashion Editorial
This course aims to look at contemporary set Design and prop making within the Fashion Industry. We will look at installation artists, 3D sculptors and Set Designers who work within the Fashion sphere. A passion for making and creating is a must for this course but no previous experience is required. You will understand how important a Set Designer is to the making and creating of iconic fashion imagery. The course culminates in shooting your work and creating a professional fashion story using your own creations.
This course includes:
- A Unique understanding of set design within the context of contemporary fashion imagery
- A clear understanding of how backdrops, props and set design can be incorporated into contemporary fashion imagery
- You will gain skills in 3D prop making through a series of progressive workshops culminating in your own fashion shoot
- An understanding of the roles of Art Director, Stylist, Photographer and Set designer within a fashion landscape
- The understanding of researching and developing a concept to lead or fit within a brief
Beginners. You should have interest in the subject area and a desire to learn but no previous experience is required.

Suzanne Beirne launched her career at Vivienne Westwood's design studios starting out as an assistant. She developed within the design team overseeing all creative for shoots, look books, exhibitions, installations and window concepts worldwide. Suzanne also consulted for both Prada and Miu Miu. Styling all visual platforms such as windows, exhibitions, showrooms and events - she worked closely with the renowned photographer and stylist, Manuela Pavesi. She has exhibited her work nationally, culminating in selling artworks to the singer Kylie Minogue. Having assisted the art director Simon Costin, Suzanne currently works as a set designer and contributes to international magazines such another, another man, self service, document journal, i-d, under the influence, wonderland and the gentlewoman among others. Commercial clients include Burberry, Topshop, House of Hackney, Ben Sherman and Shrimps.
