Do you want to work on a real photojournalistic brief? And get an insight into what it is like to be sent out into the field by an editor? This course will guide you through an intense and practical programme of activities aimed at teaching the photographic skills for journalistic purposes.
- We will analise the work of top photojournalists and explore their skills.
- You will be asked to work on location - with the tutor and your colleagues - on a real photo-journalistic brief.
- You will then learn how to select and edit your work to create a professional photo-essay to be taken away with you.
Who should take this course?
Students with some experience of photography, who know how to use their cameras and settings, and who are interested in learning professional photojournalistic techniques.

Giulio Mazzarini is a creative director and photographer living in London. He was born in Rome, Italy, where he graduated in Sociology. In 1998 he moved to London, where he completed a Masters in Design Studies at Central Saint Martins, University of The Arts London. After working on the creation of the trend forecasting website WGSN.com, he founded the communication studio GEM. His work has been seen in international magazines such as Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, Elle and Dazed & Confused. He has also contributed to the image development of companies and brands, such as L'Oréal, Reebok, Aston Martin, Citroen and Selfridges. He is an Associate Lecturer of the University of the Arts London, European Institute of Design (Rome) and Groupe INSEEC (Paris & London).

- Any type of digital camera is allowed - ideally a SLR camera with interchangeable lenses. Make sure you also bring plenty of memory, a memory card reader and battery power
