Creative Composition Drawing Workshop
Using the human figure as our motif, this course focuses on the importance of composition – how the image is built, how the subject is placed in the frame, and how the whole picture speaks.
Understanding the compositional options available to us will help strengthen and deepen the picture-making practice.
Drawing with different formats, shapes and sizes of paper will be involved, as will colour and collage. Examples will be used and inspiration found in past and contemporary artists.
Students will be encouraged to approach their work in a considered way, to be sensitive to how the observed world can be altered to benefit the picture.
Level: All levels
Please note: This course is for students aged 18 and older
