Introduction to Makeup (16-18 Year Olds)
You've read the advice of the beauty editors in the magazines - now come and join this makeup artist course at London College of Fashion.
We'll demystify the beauty industry for you and help you find your way around the cosmetics counter. Through demonstrations and hands-on workshops, this makeup course will help you find the best ways to create fun and fashionable looks with cosmetics.
The course includes:
- Understanding skin types and product information
- Creating a no makeup look
- Creating a natural beauty makeup look
- Attaching false lashes
- Recreating a current fashion makeup look
- Creating a party/club style makeup look
Our makeup courses take place in our makeup studios housed within our Lime Grove site in West London.Level:
Beginners. You should have an interest in the subject area and a desire to learn but no previous experience is required.
Your course place is confirmed once you have booked online or via the phone using a credit or debit card. There is no deadline for booking. Places are offered on a first come, first served basis, and all courses have a maximum number of students. We suggest you book early to avoid disappointment.
As part of your course, you will receive an invite to a MAC Cosmetics discount shopping session which will enable you to purchase MAC products at discounted price. The shopping session may take place either during your course or in some cases the following week or weekend.
Please note: University Halls of Residence accommodation is available for under 18s during the Summer period. The only hall of residence available to under 18s travelling independently is Sketch House. You MUST enter the code Youth when making your booking online. Ruth Brophy trained in both film and SFX in IADT Dublin, Ireland and Fashion Editorial in London College of Fashion. Working freelance on editorial shoots, advertising campaigns, fashion week show’s and music videos with top photographers. Ruth has published work in magazines from British Vogue to id magazine and Sunday times style. She has been key artist on LFW shows and shot with photographer such as David Bailey and Rankin. Red carpet and private client work include actresses, models and members of the British and Abu Dhabi Royal families. Ruth was Head of Design for Elaine Constantine's BAFTA nominated feature film "Northern Soul" which was released by Universal in 2014, Northern Soul won the NME award for "Best Film" Ruth was Head of Design For Adrian Nobles feature film "Mrs Lowry and Son" featuring Timothy Spall and Vanessa Redgrave, due for release in 2018.
Sam Walker has worked in the make-up industry for over 17 years. Her career started with Make-up Forever, Paris. Working in fashion, music, beauty, film, theatre and bridal. Her editorial work includes features for Vanity Fair, Tatler, Tank, Flux, What?, amongst others. She has worked as a bridal make-up artist for many years. A Royal wedding: Duke and Duchess of Gloucester’s daughter Lady Davina Windsor at Kensington palace, Roger Taylor from QUEENs brides make-up, are to name a few. Sam has also collaborated with the late Isabella Blow and Philip Treacey. Photographers Gisela Torres, Cody Burridge, Pete Bartlett. Commercials for Simple, Yorkshire Tea, BT, CISCO. Celebrities; the burlesque dancer Immodesty Blaize, Salma Hayek, Tina Turner, Nigella Lawson. She also combines this with tutoring, training Global brands and regularly delivering seminars for the industry.
