Life Drawing For Fashion Designers
The aim of this course is to inspire and develop individual approaches to drawing from life. Experimental exercises will increase concentration, observation and confidence, whilst exploring new ways of drawing the figure. The time will be spent working from the clothed model in a variety of media. The course has been running at Central Saint Martins for many years and has been formative in developing the drawing skills of many well-known artists and designers.
Who should take this course?
Although ideally suited for those from the field of fashion, this course is perfect for anyone with a passion for (or desire to try) drawing from life.
Level: All levels of ability are welcome, from beginners to advanced students.

Please note: This course is for students aged 18 and older
Connie Lim is a professional illustrator and designer from Los Angeles, California. She has trained at prestigious universities such as Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and Central Saint Martins in London. As an artist specialising in fashion, she merges the two loves to create unique and striking images using traditional hand drawings. Her clients include Louboutin, Bulgari and Guerlain.
Please bring with you to the first session:
- A2 size drawing pad or cartridge paper
- Pencils (4b & 6b)
- Oil pastels
- Selection of other drawing equipment that they choose
- Students will be advised to collect more materials as the weeks progress
