Drawing the Fashion Figure Workshop

Learning the basic foundation of the figure is the important first step and start to fashion drawing. It is also the stepping stone for creative drawing, understanding the female body is essential for aspiring designers and also illustrators.

This course offers the basics of the fashion figure for students who want to learn the base foundation of the human body and it's structure. The focus will be on the fashion proportions (9 heads technique), a touch up on anatomy of the female body, and lectures on hands and feet, a close exploration of the fashion face, and finally the figure in motion.

This course is a very technical approach to drawing and is recommended for students who would like to learn how to start a fashion drawing beginning with the figure.

Students will learn the basic foundation of the fashion figure and how to draw the fashion figure and the figure in motion, to assist illustrators and designers alike.

Tutor Description

Connie Lim is a professional illustrator and designer from Los Angeles, California. She has trained at prestigious universities such as Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and Central Saint Martins in London. As an artist specialising in fashion, she merges the two loves to create unique and striking images using traditional hand drawings. Her clients include Louboutin, Bulgari and Guerlain.
