Menswear Design Taster Online Short Course

Course description

During this taster session you will be introduced to the ever-expanding discipline of menswear design.

Looking at examples that show a vast range of different outcomes with menswear, you will gain an insight into breadth of the industry and what can be created and designed within the menswear spectrum.

You will understand what the Menswear Design Online Short Course will cover and what steps you can take to enter the menswear industry or to become better designers.

We will discuss what areas of menswear you can explore and what new themes you can uncover, leaving the session feeling informed and encouraged to pursue your menswear design visions.

Who should attend this course?

This taster session is aimed at anyone with an interest in pursuing a fashion design career and particularly in menswear design. This course is also aimed at those that want to delve into menswear design and discover the possibilities that menswear can bring.

No previous knowledge is required to attend this taster session but a firm interest in design, mark making, and fashion is needed. You should want to explore how you can become a good fashion designer.

Outcomes

By the end of this taster course students should:

  • Develop your understanding of the menswear industry.
  • Gain an insight into the Menswear Design Online Short Course.
  • Communicate your design ideas back the group and receive tutor and peer feedback.
  • Learn how to illustrate your design using industry relevant techniques and processes.

  • A notebook
  • A pen
  • Sketching pencils
  • Marker pens
  • Colouring pencils
  • Camera / camera phone
  • Pastels
  • A range of mark making tools
  • A range of things to draw on
  • Glue
  • Scissors
