
Fashion Design and Styling for 11 to 13 Year Olds Short Course
Course description
This introductory programme has been designed to inspire future designers, creators and collaborators. It is suitable for anyone who wants to learn more about designing, styling and all the related subjects, such as a fashion shoot production.
Key themes covered include:
- Learning the discovery process
- research through to experimenting all the way through to a final fashion design
- Sustainability in fashion design; building ethical brands
- Fashion images; the difference between advertising, look-books and street styles
- The facets of styling and the toolkit of a stylist
The course will include the creation of a brand collaboration using your favourite designer as your inspiration.
Outcomes
- Understand the design process and how to research for inspiration
- Understand sustainability in design, manufacture and the supply chain
- Create fashion images during a design process
- Create fashion images for brand collaborations
- Develop knowledge as to the role of a stylist in the creation of brand and collection marketing
- Produce content marketing in different visual formats
Who should attend?
Anyone aged 11 to 13 with a love of fashion and a creative mind. The course has been created to inspire future designers, creators and collaborators.

Materials
In order to get the most out of this course you should bring the following materials to your first session:
The photoshoot will require 5 items from your wardrobe or with permission; your parents wardrobe!
The collaboration will require images of your favourite products from you favourite fashion designer.
All other materials will be provided.
