Zoe Hinton is the course leader for BSc Fashion Management. Zoe has an extensive background in retail, having spent almost 15 years in industry across various retailers. She ran buying teams at House of Fraser and New Look, managing the departmental finance to repeatedly deliver record profits. She spent her time in multi-product areas, buying products across categories and working with factories all over the world. She holds an external examiner post at Instituto Marangoni in both London and Paris, and has also taught for both Conde Nast College of Fashion and Milano Politecnico. She has a PGCERT in Academic practice at distinction level, and is a Fellow of the HEA. Zoe has a keen interest in student engagement and digital pedagogy, as well as experimentation with online platforms and interactive sites in order to improve student experience, and has published research regarding this. Angie Lench is the Programme Director for the Leadership and Management programme. Her strengths lie in her industry experience spanning more than 20 years working in international fashion retail management as well as buying and merchandising. She has held numerous positions with successful retailers such as Selfridges and TK Maxx including senior buyer and head of merchandising. Her teaching career has been previously established at the Fashion Retail Academy. She has been instrumental in developing fashion retail-specific courses including a Foundation degree in Fashion Retail Management for over 10 years, maintaining her connection with the fashion industry. In addition she is already an established final year dissertation tutor in the Fashion Business School at LCF. Angie has a PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Educational Leadership & Management.
Francesca Bonetti is a Lecturer in Marketing at undergraduate and postgraduate level at London College of Fashion, and a Visiting Lecturer at universities across Europe and Asia. She is also a PhD Researcher in retailing, consumer-facing technology and marketing at The University of Manchester, School of Materials, Faculty of Engineering & Physical Sciences. Her research interests also include luxury fashion retailing in China and the consumption of fashion goods by Asian consumers. She has international industry experience in marketing communications and business development in the fashion and apparel sector and consults for fashion brands and retailers. She was awarded her Master’s Degree in Marketing with Distinction from the University of St Andrews in 2012.
Liz Gee is associate dean of the Fashion Business School. Liz has been teaching financial management and corporate strategy at the London College of Fashion since 2006. Liz is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and as a Chartered Manager is a member of the Chartered Management Institute. Liz has fashion industry financial experience as treasurer of Debenhams plc and as a corporate banker with Barclays plc. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Liz completed her MA in Academic Practice at UAL in 2014 with a thesis on the pedagogy of enterprise and employability and recently received a UAL award for Teaching Excellence. Liz’s subject-related research interests lie in new funding paradigms for fashion businesses and she is currently writing several chapters of a textbook of Strategic Fashion Management. Sally Bain is Placement Year Leader: Diploma in Professional Studies (DiPS). She is widely networked in the fashion industry and an active member of The Chambers retail network group. She has a wealth of industry experience with a career spanning Journalism (including Editor of Drapers), Retail Analysis (Head of Research and Publications at Verdict / Senior Analyst at Mintel), Retail / Communications consultancy (including with The Chambers group) and Lecturing on Marketing and Retail Futures at a variety of UK universities. She has a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning, University of the Arts, and in 2012 was presented with the UAL Award for Teaching Excellence.

Dr Affan Hameed joined the Fashion Business School at UAL in 2018 as a lecturer in quantitative methods. He obtained his BBA (distinction) with major in Finance at the Lahore School of Economics (2010), having studied under a four-year scholarship on merit. Thereafter, Affan completed his masters in Finance (distinction) at the Queen’s University Belfast (2011). In 2018 Affan was awarded a PhD. in Finance by the ICMA Center, Henley Business School at the University of Reading. He has interned in several roles such as operational analyst, investment analyst and accounts assistant at large financial institutions (JS Investments, Bank Alfalah, and Holiday Inn) and was also employed in the public sector as a statistical officer in Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS). Affan’s research interest lies in corporate governance and corporate finance. After his masters, Affan conducted hands-on lab sessions in Financial Econometrics at Queen’s University Belfast. During his PhD., Affan gained three years of teaching experience in the following modules: Corporate Governance, Financial Engineering, Securities, Options and Derivatives, and Mergers and Acquisitions. Affan also worked in various financial institutions including the Mergers & Acquisition Department at Mercer, London during his PhD. Currently, Affan teaches the areas of Quantitative Methods, Research Methods, Corporate Finance and Risk Management, and Principles of Business.
Dr Stine Hedegaard is a lecturer in Fashion Management and advisor on Sustainable Consumption and Sustainability Strategy Challenges. She has a background in consumer insights and for the past 10 years she has focused on the intersection of consumer insights and sustainability. She has substantial experience in the fashion industry, working for brands such as COS and H&M, and from her role as development director at Danish Fashion Institute. She holds a PhD in Organization and Management (Copenhagen Business School), an MSc in Social Psychology (London School of Economics and Political Science) an MSc in Psychology (University of Copenhagen) and a BSc in Psychology (University of Copenhagen).
Dr Shuyu Lin’s expertise lies in value creation and appropriation in the fashion ecosystem. Her research aims to extend the application of network-based strategic management and social capital theories to the discipline of aesthetic innovation. Exploring both structural and relational mechanism in open innovation has been at the centre of her research interest. Following a BA in Journalism, Shuyu pursued her career in the fashion industry as a PR consultant and fashion editor. She then received the degree of MSc in Management with Marketing and PhD in Management from the University of Bath.
Adrian Gauci is Lecturer in Fashion Management with teaching experience specialising in Fashion Marketing, Leadership, HRM and Strategy at leading universities in New York and London. Adrian published articles in the Journal of International Business and Law and was CEO of the American Marketing Association chapter at Hofstra University in New York. Adrian also attended several academic conferences in the US and UK. He is also certified in public speaking by Toastmasters International. He led consultancies at Merrill Lynch Centre and other enterprise software corporations in New York. Adrian run his own consultancy based in London and New York. Adrian read a dual MBA with distinction in Management and International Business at the Frank G. Zarb School of Business in New York on full international academic scholarship. Adrian was also awarded a Master in Integrated Marketing Communications from San Diego State University and University of Malta. He was ranked on the Dean's list on both courses. Adrian was recently awarded a teaching excellence award from LCF for his MBA teachings and a Teaching Fellow Award from the LSE Management Department. Adrian led business development teams in New York and London and also works in industry consultancy projects. His hobby is portraits photography using analogue and having a drama degree is also acted in several motion pictures for international cinema release.
Hannah Middleton is lecturer in Fashion Product Development and Buying. Hannah has worked as a fashion buyer for several well-known high street retailers, such as House of Fraser, Jigsaw, Dorothy Perkins, TK Maxx, JD Sports, Phase Eight. Hannah bought fashion brands but most of her years as a buyer have been spent working with designers and manufacturers, buying own label brands. Hannah also consults for small to medium sized fashion businesses. Her research investigates the buying role and the changing relationship between buyer and merchandiser. Hannah holds a PGCert in Academic Practice (MMU) and BA Hons Modern Languages & International Marketing (UNN).
Kirsty Nevett is lecturer in Retail Management/Operations/Strategy. Kirsty has worked in the fashion industry for over ten years as buyer and then a business development and innovation expert working for Harrods, Lyle & Scott and Gloverall in Europe, the USA and the Far East. Kirsty has extensive experience in fashion retailing from store management and retail operations to buying, merchandising and new business innovations. She is a graduate of Glasgow Caledonian University with a BA in Business and an MSc in Fashion Marketing. Her research interests lie in the future of fashion, with particular interest in how new technologies in both retail and product are engaging, converting and retaining consumers.
Dr Emmanuel Silva is course leader for the Integrated MSc in Strategic Fashion Management and senior lecturer in Quantitative Methods. He holds a BSc (Hons) Economics and Actuarial Science (2011) and MSc. Risk Management (2012) from the University of Southampton, PG Cert Academic Practice in Art, Design and Communication from UAL, and PhD Statistics (2016) from Bournemouth University (BU) in UK. Emmanuel is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Since joining the Fashion Business School in 2015, Emmanuel has been responsible for the evolution and enhanced integration of Quantitative Methods within the curriculum and supervises the quantitative research components of all MSc Final Major Projects. In recognition of his contribution to teaching and learning, Emmanuel was awarded a 2017 UAL Teaching Award. His research interest is in Time Series Analysis and Forecasting with Singular Spectrum Analysis. Emmanuel has presented his research at several international conferences and has a portfolio of 30 published journal articles (with several ABS ranked 2*, 3* and 4* publications) with over 380 citations.
