Fashion Communication Summer School
This three week beginners course is a broad introduction to fashion communication for those who want to enter the worlds of fashion journalism, advertising, PR, styling, fashion book production or art direction. It will include one day workshops and longer projects, sometimes working solo, sometimes in groups. Students must have an open mind as some of the projects have unusual starting points.
Topics covered include:
- magazine cover design
- fashion styling and photography
- catwalk reporting and sketching
- street style blogs
- a book concept
- fashion illustration and branding
Who should take this course?
Beginners with an interest to learn about fashion communication and journalism.
As an introduction to the subject, this course is not suitable to those who already have fashion communication experience.

Julian Seaman has a degree in Fashion and Textiles from Saint Martins. He is an illustrator, print designer and author of five best selling books on fashion drawing. He has taught in various capacities at Central Saint Martins since 1996.
Harriet Worsley gained her degree at Central Saint Martins in Fashion Communication and Promotion and has worked as a fashion journalist for the trade and consumer press. She taught Fashion Communication on the Foundation Course at Central Saint Martins and has written four books on the history of fashion, she is also an accomplished garden designer.
