The work of Creative Directors is fundamental to interpret the needs and goals of a brand, product or service. They are considered experts in all steps of the creative process and therefore that their role is fundamental in every the Marketing, Communication and Advertising departments. These professionals organise, direct and supervise work done by creative teams, like Art Directors, Copywriters, Graphic Designers and Photographers.

Through a mix of theoretical lessons and workshops, each participant will have created their own body of work that will highlight the individual qualities, such as clarity of thought, organisation, creation, design and art direction.

Who should take this course?

This course aims at equipping both middle-weight and experienced creatives with vision, knowledge and indispensable tools to grow both professionally and individually.

Course Outcomes

At the end of this course, students will feel more confident in working for advertising agencies, design agencies, digital and social agencies, integrated communication and content agencies, social media platforms, publishing and creative company departments, as well as start working as freelancers and entrepreneurs.

Tutor Description

Giulio Mazzarini is a creative director and photographer living in London. He was born in Rome, Italy, where he graduated in Sociology. In 1998 he moved to London, where he completed a Masters in Design Studies at Central Saint Martins, University of The Arts London. After working on the creation of the trend forecasting website, he founded the communication studio GEM. His work has been seen in international magazines such as Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, Elle and Dazed & Confused. He has also contributed to the image development of companies and brands, such as L'Oréal, Reebok, Aston Martin, Citroen and Selfridges. He is an Associate Lecturer of the University of the Arts London, European Institute of Design (Rome) and Groupe INSEEC (Paris & London).
