Join Sustainable Architecture and gain an insight into outstanding design solutions, familiarising yourself with the key concepts and principles of sustainability in the built environment.
Sustainable building practices have become an integral part of the architectural design process. We are continually reminded of the detrimental impact of climate change and the impact of human activity on global warming.
With a visit from a guest speaker, you will be introduced to the 10 BREEAM categories, a framework used to evaluate various indicators across environmental, social and economic fields including: energy, pollution, health and wellbeing.
You will also have the chance to apply your knowledge and creative ideas, by participating in a short group workshop. Using an undeveloped site in London you will identify the challenges and solutions, for a new sustainable, architectural design to be enjoyed, without compromise, by future generations.
- Concept and Principles of Sustainability

You will have gained a general awareness of sustainability in the built environment and acquired conceptual and hands-on knowledge about sustainable architecture. You will have worked within the 10 BREEAM categories framework for a small project, a method that can be applied to future architecture or interior design projects.
