Immersive Content Creation
Learn how to create immersive content for social media and mobile devices. Using a range of accessible digital tools you will learn how to create a custom 3D environment and publish it both as a 360 monoscopic and stereoscopic video.
Using a rage of devices including a vintage stereoscopes and mobile VR headsets, you will be introduced to the fundamental processes involved with stereoscopy. Through experimentation and guidance from your tutor you will develop your understanding of the differences between monoscopic and stereoscopic content creation.
You will be introduced to the concept of 3D modelling and texture mapping and will learn how to set up and create a basic environment using Blender – a popular and free, open source software used for 3D modelling and animation.
You will learn how to incorporate existing 3D models from web archives, to enrich your projects and create high-quality renders. With these you will produce both monoscopic and stereoscopic still images, still videos and animated videos to be digitally published on social media platforms.

You will have developed and improved your 3D modelling and animation skills. You will understand the difference between monoscopic and stereoscopic images. And have learnt how to produce and publish high quality image renders and videos, to include in your portfolio and publish on social media platforms.
Who should attend
This course is aimed at audio-visual artists, interior designers, graphic designers, illustrators, photographers, film makers and other professionals interested in experimenting and learning about the process of creating immersive content. A great introductory course for anyone looking to enhance digital content for social media and other online platform. Previous experience of 3D modelling and or animation is beneficial but not essential.
Alejandro Escobar is a visual artist with a 12 year career exploring and questioning the nature of images. His work has been exhibited in Colombia, USA and the UK. Since 2015 he has been exploring Virtual Reality and has produced and internationally exhibited immersive experiences at a range of venues including: Tate Exchange, Camberwell College of Arts, Explora Park, Columbia, and The International Image Festival 2018 in Colombia. Recent projects include Public Transport VR.
Alejandro graduated from an MA in Fine Art Digital in 2017 with an A+ and has since been successfully delivering VR workshops. He has recently relocated in London, after being granted an Exceptional Talent Visa endorsed by the Arts Council in recognition of his work. Alejandro currently works as a VR Specialist Technician at LCC and is also an active member of the Digital Maker Collective at UAL.
