Zbrush for Designers
ZBrush is a digital sculpting tool that combines 3D and 2D modelling, including texturing and painting, that is widely used in a number of industries ranging from animation to furniture design.
This course will cover many aspects of the software, with the main focus being on sculpting. Students can expect to learnt about a wide range of topics including Shadow Box, ZSpheres, ZModeller, Hard Surface Modelling, Organic Sculpting, Displacement Maps, UV Master, ZRemesher, Polypainting and more.
This course does not require any prior knowledge of the software and is suitable for absolute beginners, 2D to 3D converts, designers (architecture, jewellery, furniture, fashion etc), artists, clay-to-digital converts, animators, games artists, digital and visual effects artists, 3D printers and more.

No previous experience is necessary, however, a basic understanding of computers would be helpful.

Nilly Brook has worked in the industry as a ZBrush artist and has taught ZBrush courses at a variety of institutions, to newcomers and industry professionals. Nilly is the 3D technical specialist at Central Saint Martins. Nilly has taught at a number of institutions including the NFTS, Escape Studios, Academy Class and Training Dragon.
Please bring the following materials to the first session:
- Sketches and reference material (photos etc) of 3D objects that interest you
- A wacom tablet, if you have one, would be extremely beneficial
