Drawn Animation For Beginners

Starting with walk cycles and squash and stretch, the course will cover all the basics of traditional drawn animation, including matter, characters, acting and lip-sync.

Concepts of timing, layout and movement compositions will be covered and the lessons learned will aid all forms of animation, not only drawn but puppet and computer.

The course will have a practical approach with your work recorded and analysed on the spot.

Entry requirements: None

Level: Beginners

Tutor Description

Shaun McGlinchey is a professional animator who has worked for Disney and Warner Brothers to name but a few, and  worked on animated features, adverts, TV series, independent films. He currently teaches at, University of Westminster, Ravensbourne College of Art, UCA Farnham. He is an inspirational teacher, with a huge knowledge of film in general and animation in particular. The course has helped many artists to move into animation or to use animation in their own work.
