Description


During this course you will learn to make three different styles of ladies head wear from a selection of 20th century styles: 1920s cloche, 1940s turban and a 1950s headpiece.

The course will cover historical fashion and specialist millinery techniques such as blocking, stitching, trimmings and linings, in which you will be working with a variety of materials from wool felt, foundation materials and silk.

  • Creating different fashion styles
  • Working with a variety of traditional millinery techniques

Level: All levels

Entry requirements
Basic hand sewing is useful but not essential.
This course can follow on from the Millinery Workshop course.

Millinery, costume and fashion students and professionals.

Tutor Description


Judy Bentinck is a practicing traditional couture milliner making contemporary hats that are both functional and flattering. Working from her central London studio, she has an international client base, including celebrities such as Clare Balding, Jenny Agutter and Jane Asher, aristocrats and dignitaries. www.judybentinck.com
