Pocket design and construction is an important component in functional design for accessories, Bags. This course will inspire all those who love handbags. The course will guide students through the process of constructing a selection of varied pockets traditionally used in accessory design.

Who should take this course?

Course is aimed at beginners who are interested in learning different approaches to constructing pockets for bags.

Course Outcomes

Students will take away samples of pocket ideas to use in their accessory designs.

Entry requirements: Ideally would have attended a beginners Bag Making course. Must have Good English Language communication skills.

Tutor Description

Noor Iris-Nur teaches Accessory and Fashion design at the London College of Fashion and Newham College. Noor also sells their own range of bags at outlets across London.


Please bring on the first day:

  • Fabric & Paper Scissors
  • 30cm Ruler, Set Square or Pattern Master
  • Sketchbook & Drawing materials
  • Pins, Tracing Wheel & Quick Unpick
  • Measuring Tape & Clear Tape
