Course description
Join 3D Design for Teenagers aged between 11 to 15 years old and gain an exciting introduction to 3D design, a broad area, which can relate to sculpture, architecture, interior and spatial, product and jewellery design.
You will investigate and familiarise yourself with a range of 3D works as you explore new ideas and take part in the processes of design. You will explore drawing techniques, 3D making skills, communication and presentation techniques. Through these activities, you will be encouraged to explore design process through concept development, problem solving and developmental approaches.
This course will give you a real feel for the creative approaches used in an art school environment to feed your ideas and spark your inspiration.
Course outcomes
You will receive guidance on creating and documenting your work and gain skills that can be used in building a future portfolio. You will take away new knowledge as well as the work produced, including: drawings, photographic documentation of 3d work and sample portfolio sheets.
Who should attend
This course is aimed at teenagers aged 11 to 15 years with an interest in art and design, particularly 3D design. An ideal experience for students with an interest in art and design, or for those considering further studies in this subject. No prior experience is required.

- gardening twine (jute or sisal)
- 1 large ball wool - 2 x 50 gm balls
- needle and thread
- old t-shirts / other items of clothing that can be cut up
- plastic sheeting / tarpaulin / yoga mat / foam sheeting
- stapler / staples elastic bands – 50+
- paper clips - 100+
- masking tape - 1 roll
- sellotape - 1 roll
- aluminium paper - 1 roll
- scissors
- flour - 1/5 kgs
- table salt - 200 gm
- bicarbonate of soda
- food colouring
- spaghetti - 500 gm
- cutlery
- roll of kitchen paper
- sealable plastic containers
- A4 paper - 50 sheets
- assortment of newspapers, magazines
- lining paper / white paper - rolls to share (approx 10m)
- cardboard boxes
- drawing materials
- water based paints – assorted colours

- collected plant materials - pruning, twigs, small branches, grasses, flower stems.
Technical Requirements:
Prior to the start of your course, please ensure you have:
