Our interior design module short courses are among our most popular courses. Samira is soon to complete Interior Design - Module Three and in this interview, she gives us an insight into her experiences of studying at Chelsea College of Arts and how the courses have benefitted her.

Where are you currently based?
London

What is your occupational background?
I have worked in IT, international trade, and I am currently working in Higher Education.

Which course did you study  and why did you choose it?
I have already completed Introduction to Interior Design - Part 1, Introduction to Interior Design - Part 2, and Interior Design - Module Two, and I will be starting Interior Design - Module Three within next couple of weeks. I have always been interested in interior design and I was looking to gain experience in this field and learn new skills. After taking part in the bite-size course I realised this is the course for me!

What did you enjoy most about your course?
I love the way these courses are designed. They are intensive and hard work, but it is so satisfying at the end when you look back and realise how much you have learned. Learning new things is inspiring and encouraging.

How has this course benefitted your career and personal development?
In terms of the personal development, it has gave me my confidence back, and I feel that I can achieve what I put my mind to. I want to embark on a new career as an interior designer and these courses are helping me with the knowledge and skills that I need to do that.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about taking a short course Camberwell, Chelsea or Wimbledon Colleges of Arts?
Do it! Don't postpone it anymore!

What do you believe is integral to the work of an artist or designer, in any discipline?
Dedication, vision, and the joy each project brings to its creator.

What 3 words best describe your short course experience at Chelsea, Camberwell or Wimbledon?
Interesting, inspiring, thoughtful

Anything else you would like to add?
The tutor of the Interior Design courses, Lyndall Fernie, is the real asset. She is one of the best teachers I ever had, and she is inspiring for every single student.
