About
We offer a number of rooms at our new halls of residence at Wick Park to students as part of our UAL accommodation bursary rent scheme. Students allocated these rooms will pay a lower rent. The rooms will be offered subject to availability, to students who meet the eligibility criteria.
These rooms will be offered at a price of £208 per week, for a contract length of 39 weeks. Students who wish to extend their contract beyond the 39 weeks may be required to pay an additional amount of £90 per week. Rental for any other rooms for any weeks between 40 and 44 will be £298 per week, which is in line with the UAL rate.
Apply
Applications for this scholarship must be made by filling in an online application form.
Step 1
You will need to apply to the UAL Accommodation Bursary Rent Scheme via your UAL Student Portal. This will be a short application form and you will be required to provide evidence of your family household income for the previous financial year.
For new students this can be P60’s or last 3 months of payslips
For continuing students, you can provide ‘Consent to Share’ through your Student Finance England (SFE) account and we will be able to check your household income.
Applications will be open on your UAL student portal from Monday 3 April until midnight, Sunday 14 May 2023.
If you have any queries about the application process, please contact UAL Student Funding via the Student Funding Enquiry Form
Step 2
You will need to apply for UAL accommodation via your UAL Accommodation Portal and indicate Wick Park as your first choice. Subject to availability, this will enable us to ensure that you are allocated one of the rooms if you meet the eligibility criteria.
Step 3
The UAL Funding team will check the household income for all students who apply for the UAL Accommodation Bursary Rent Scheme. All students who have a household income of £25,000 or below will be ranked by level of income. A list of all students who meet the criteria and the ranking will be given to the Accommodation Services Allocations team (please note that no financial information will be shared with Accommodation Services).
Accommodation Services will offer the rooms to the students assessed with the lowest income, until all the rooms have been allocated. Please note that if you are allocated one of the Wick Park rooms at the price of £208, this will act as confirmation that your application has been successful for the UAL Accommodation Bursary Rent Scheme.
Step 4
You will be required to accept or decline the offer of the room within the standard process for UAL Accommodation Services. Please note that if you decide not to accept the offer, the room may be offered to another student.
