Eligibility

To be eligible for The Swarovski Foundation Scholarship – BA Jewellery Design students must be:

• enrolled on the final year of the full-time BA Jewellery Design course at Central Saint Martins, UAL starting in September 2023.

About

The Swarovski Foundation was set up in 2013 to honor the philanthropic spirit of Daniel Swarovski, who founded the crystal business 126 years ago in the Tyrolean Alps. It reinforces the company's commitment to philanthropy and charitable giving. The Swarovski Foundation’s mission is to build on this heritage by supporting charitable initiatives and organizations working in 3 areas: fostering culture and creativity, promoting human empowerment, and preserving the environment.

The Swarovski Foundation is committed to advancing the preservation of cultural heritage and the encouragement of creativity in the arts by supporting educational, artistic and cultural institutions dedicated to excellence in design and through the support of education in fashion and jewellery design. The Foundation promotes gender equality and education, specifically, working with organisations that tackle challenges facing women around the world with innovative programmes, enabling them to fulfill their potential. In education, the Foundation engages with institutions that employ new approaches to improve the quality of learning for young people.

The Swarovski Foundation has a long-standing partnership with University of the Arts London. The Foundation not only supports BA Fashion Scholarships at Central Saint Martins but also BA Jewellery Design Scholarships and BA Jewellery Design Prizes.

The scholarship will be assessed on the basis of financial need and academic merit. It will provide a contribution towards course costs and living expenses for the final year of the course.

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to sustainability and innovation in their work. Applications are welcome from those who are in financial hardship, those who will benefit from undergraduate studies to realise their full potential and those with potential to make an exceptional contribution to the jewellery industries.

Receiving payment

The scholarship will provide a contribution towards your course costs and living expenses.

Course costs and living expense payments will be paid in termly instalments via BACS to the award recipient.
