South Square Trust Scholarship Awards

Eligibility

To be eligible for The South Square Trust Scholarship Awards students must be:

• Considered a Home student for tuition fee purposes and
• Accepted on the full-time MA Fine Art course at Central Saint Martins, UAL commencing in September 2021

About

The South Square Trust was set up in 1979 with the aim of assisting individuals wishing to study degree courses in the Fine and Applied Arts.

The Trust supports MA Fine Art students at Central Saint Martins, and BA Theatre Design students at Wimbledon College of Arts, with the aim of enabling them to focus upon their studies and embrace wider creative opportunities.

The scholarship will be assessed on the basis of financial need and then academic merit. It will provide a contribution towards maintenance and living costs for the duration of the course.

Applications are welcome from those who are in financial hardship and those who will benefit from postgraduate studies to realise their full potential.

Receiving payment

The scholarship will provide a contribution towards your course costs and living expenses.

The Award is granted in principle for 2 years, commencing from the academic year 2021/22.  The Award is only “committed” for one year with the 2nd year being dependent upon the Trustees’ satisfaction with both the supported student and the College. The Trustees will review the performance of both at their meetings in June.

Each scholarship recipient is required to provide a progress report at the end of each term; if the progress is deemed satisfactory by the Trust, the next payment instalment will be released.

The payments will be issued at the beginning of each term.

Living expense and course costs payments will be paid in termly instalments to the award recipient.
